Giving Minerals Away
There are times when it is clear that a mineral’s work with you is done. You might feel that it belongs to someone else and part of your work with it is to follow the breadcrumbs to figure out who its new owner is. Before you regift a mineral be sure to clean it well, and set a new intention for it to align and help someone new. (You can read about ways to do that here) To set a new intention all you have to do is talk to it, communicate with the stone on what you would like it to do and how it can best serve you. And listen. Notice any little sign you might get. Maybe you think of a person right away. Maybe you get a phone call from someone while looking at it or thinking about it. Maybe it won’t make sense, but it’s your job to trust it and follow through with what comes to you. Minerals really want to be of service.
There are also minerals, like all objects, that have been given to us by someone that may not be in our lives any more for one reason or another, and the mineral might represent an old or unwanted energy. Minerals themselves are never inherently bad, but in our minds they can be connected to people or memories that you are trying to clear and disconnect from. So, what do you do with these minerals? My favorite thing to do is to return them to the earth. The earth is a master recycler, without judgment she will know what to do with the energy that it attached to the mineral. You can find a place in nature, preferably not in your yard if you are wanting to clear or disconnect from that person or time period, and bury your mineral there. When you do this, thank it for how it has served you, this will help it know its work with you is done. And walk away.
